3-4-21 THOUGHTS
Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work
together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according
to His purpose. [used yesterday]
Someone might say, I believed and I’ve had a rotten life! God help you.
Heb 11:13-16 All these died in faith, without receiving the
promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance,
and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
14 For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a
country of their own. 15 And indeed if they had been thinking of that
country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16
But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore
God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.
There’s an old saying, “The proof of the pudding is in the eating!” The
“Proof of the pudding” is not in this life. The PROOF of “work
for good” in Rom 8:28 , is IN THE FAITH! Here it is, “
to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
The “PROMISES NOT RECEIVED” had to do with MESSIAH!
1Pet 1:10-12 As to this salvation, the prophets who
prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and
inquiries, 11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ
within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the
glories to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not
serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to
you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from
heaven — things into which angels long to look.
The promises were of the GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST,
DEATH-BURIAL-RESURRECTION!
So “IN MESSIAH” “all things work together for good to those who love
God.”
Heb 12:28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken,
let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service
with reverence and awe;
Life happens, the promises are sure. Let’s take Romans 8:28 in a larger
context.
Rom 8:28-32 And we know that God causes all things to work
together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to
His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to
become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn
among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called;
and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He
also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who
is against us? 32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely
give us all things?
My Prayer:
How blessed to be your children O God. How wonderful to know you are on
our side. Teach us trust and increase our faith. Develop our souls
to be with you. We ask for a blessed day, but we beg for a blessed
eternity in your presence. In the name of Jesus
Amen
